Central Instrumentation Centre (CIC)

Central Instrumentation Centre has been established at A N College Patna, Bihar as a Centre for carrying out experimental research in the different areas of science. CIC aims for the “optimum utilization of the instrumentation facility providing quality data for analytical and research outcome.” It is a central facility and houses sophisticated analytical instruments which provides services to all researchers and students of A N College Patna, Patliputra University, Patna. Facilities for carrying out spectral, thermal, chemical and structural analysis on a variety of materials are extended to all researchers.

Sophisticated analytical instruments are vital for pursuing high end research in areas of modern science and technology. Equipments like Photoluminescence measurement system, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, X-ray Diffractometer, High temperature furnace, HPLC, etc with their enabling software add valued attributes to its infrastructure. CIC functions under the supervision of faculty members of the Institute. Training programs and workshops/seminars are organized regularly for laboratory staff and research scholars in focused areas of materials characterization and analysis.

Objectives

• To establish state-of-the-art research facilities and instruments to support advanced re search under one umbrella.
• To support and promote inter- and multi- disciplinary research in contemporary and frontier areas.
• To enable Faculty members and research scholars (in house and external both) to access facilities of the most advanced class of instruments.
• To provide guidance for acquisition of data and train personnel in operation and maintenance of Sophisticated Instruments.
• To impart training to Post Graduate students of Science faculty in the operation of instruments and analysis of the experimental results.
