An induction meet for newly admitted undergraduate students (Session 2026–2030) was held today in a dignified atmosphere at the Satyendra Narayan Sinha Auditorium of A.N. College, Patna. Addressing the gathering, College Principal Prof. Ratna Amrit welcomed the new students and extended her best wishes for their bright future. She remarked that the newly admitted students were the true guests of honor at the event, as their arrival further enriches the college's academic environment. Highlighting the importance of education, Prof. Amrit stated that in the current era of Artificial Intelligence, the need for education based on an interdisciplinary approach has grown more than ever. She urged the students to remain sensitive to social concerns, human values, and ethical responsibilities alongside their pursuit of knowledge. She emphasized that the objective of higher education is not merely to secure employment but also to mold citizens who are responsible and conscious of their role in society. During the program, Prof. Kalanath Mishra administered an oath to the new students, pledging their commitment to the college's dignity, discipline, and ethical values. He elaborated on the importance of the mandatory 75% attendance policy and a disciplined academic environment, urging students to maintain regular study habits and adhere to disciplinary norms. Faculty members from the Humanities and Social Sciences departments—including Prof. Shailesh Kumar Singh, Prof. Vinod Jha, Prof. Seema Prasad, Dr. Naveen, and Dr. Sanjay—along with other teachers and a large number of newly admitted students, were present on the occasion. The program was successfully conducted by the college Bursar, Dr. Abhishek Dutt, while Dr. Niharika proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the guests, teachers, and students.

The Start-up Cell of A.N. College, Patna, successfully organized a "Workshop on Pitch Deck Preparation" today. The event aimed to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among students and familiarize them with the process of creating impactful pitch decks. The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Niharika Kumari, Faculty In-charge of the Start-up Cell. While welcoming the guests and students, she highlighted the significance of such training programs in promoting start-up culture. Addressing the gathering, the college Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Ratna Amrit, inspired students to play an active role in innovation, entrepreneurship, and the building of an *Atmanirbhar Bharat* (Self-reliant India). She remarked that a pitch deck is not merely a tool to secure investment but an art form for effectively presenting one's ideas. She encouraged students to work on novel ideas, take risks, and realize their dreams by engaging with the start-up ecosystem. A large number of students attended the event, alongside Bursar Prof. Abhishek Dutta, MBA Coordinator Prof. Kalanath Mishra, Dr. Varun Kumar (Department of Hindi), Start-up Cell Coordinator Sachin Raj, and student representatives Vandana Singh and Piyush Anand. The keynote speaker for the event was Ms. Priya Nath, Assistant Professor at Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna (CIMP). She explained to the students that a successful start-up begins with identifying a real-world problem and that an effective pitch deck is the most crucial medium for presenting ideas clearly and compellingly to investors. She discussed the key components of a pitch deck in detail—problem identification, target customers, solutions, business models, market analysis, traction, competition, the team, and effective presentation to investors. Additionally, she encouraged students to develop prototypes, gather customer feedback, and cultivate a practical mindset. They also shared information about various schemes and startup support programs—such as Startup Bihar, Sayuj (STPI), and the Razorpay Rize Program—explaining that aspiring entrepreneurs could access guidance, incubation, and financial assistance through these initiatives. Students participated enthusiastically in the event and asked numerous questions regarding startups, all of which were answered in detail by the keynote speaker. n At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Niharika Kumari, Faculty In-charge of the Startup Cell, proposed a vote of thanks to the guests, the keynote speaker, the college administration, faculty members, and the students, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event's success.

Certificate Distribution Ceremony for World Population Day Programme Held at A. N. Anugrah Narayan College, Patna The Certificate Distribution Ceremony for the participants and NSS volunteers who actively participated in the World Population Day 2026 programme was successfully organized on 18 July 2026 at 12:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of A. N. College, Patna. The ceremony was graced by Prof. Ratna Amrit, Principal, A. N. College, Patna, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included Senior Professor Kalanath Mishra, Dr. Abhishek Dutta, Bursar, Dr. Varun, Department of Hindi, and NSS Programme Officers Dr. Navin Kumar and Dr. Amrita Chakraborty. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Ratna Amrit congratulated the volunteers and participants for their enthusiastic involvement in the World Population Day awareness programme. She appreciated their efforts in spreading awareness about family planning, prevention of early marriage, adolescent health, and responsible parenthood through activities such as the cycle rally and street play. She encouraged students to continue participating in community outreach programmes and social awareness campaigns. During the ceremony, certificates were presented to all volunteers and participants in recognition of their valuable contribution to the successful observance of World Population Day 2026. The recipients expressed their gratitude to the college administration, NSS, Sehat Kendra, the State Health Society, Bihar, and the Population Foundation of India for providing them with an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful social cause.

The Department of Political Science at A.N. College, Patna, successfully organized a two-day "Academic Talks" program on July 13–14, 2026. Three lectures covering contemporary national and international political topics were held as part of this event. On the first day (July 13, 2026), Professor Naved Jamal from the Department of Political Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, delivered a lecture on "The Changing Nature of India's Foreign Policy." He presented a detailed analysis of the priorities, challenges, and strategic shifts in India's foreign policy within the context of the evolving regional and global landscape. On the second day (July 14, 2026), Professor Ravi Ranjan from the Department of Political Science, Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi, delivered a lecture titled "Ethical Dilemmas of Modern Democracy: Exploring the Concept of Welfare from an Indian Perspective." Following this, Dr. Vijay Verma from the Department of Political Science, Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi, spoke on "Contemporary International Issues." Both speakers offered profound, enlightening, and thought-provoking insights into significant topics concerning the contemporary political and international landscape. The program was inaugurated by Professor Ratna Amrit, Principal of A.N. College. On this occasion, she shared her views on democratic values, ethical governance, India's global role, and the necessity of inclusive development. Professor Binod Kumar Jha, Head of the Department of Political Science, along with faculty members Kausar Tasneem, Richa Gautam, and Mukesh Jha, were present at the event. Students from the department participated enthusiastically, engaging actively with the speakers through thought-provoking questions and meaningful discussions related to the topics.

A.N. College, Patna, in collaboration with the State Health Society, Bihar, BSACS, and the Population Foundation of India, observed World Population Day on Saturday with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and NSS volunteers. The programme was organized to raise awareness about the importance of family planning, the prevention of early marriage, and the adverse health consequences of teenage pregnancy. The event was organized under the global theme, *"Realizing the Hopes and Aspirations of Young People – Today and for the Future.* " It commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by *Prof. Ratna Amrit, Principal, A.N. College, Patna,* and Dr. Sarita, State Programme Officer (Family Planning), State Health Society, Bihar. In their addresses, they emphasized the importance of youth participation in family planning, reproductive health awareness, and informed decision-making. The programme was also graced by Mr. Nilanshu from the Population Foundation of India. Prof. Sailesh Kumar Singh (Department of Philosophy), Dr. Sanjay Kumar (Department of Hindi), and Dr. Bandana Priya (Department of Mathematics) were also present on the occasion. A *Nukkad Natak* (street play) effectively highlighted the importance of preventing teenage pregnancy and promoting responsible reproductive health choices. Although the cycle rally began later than scheduled due to rain, the students enthusiastically completed the rally while raising awareness through slogans. Faculty members, students, and NSS volunteers actively participated in the campaign, making the event a meaningful platform for promoting public health awareness and youth empowerment. At the conclusion of the programme, all participants and volunteers were provided with T-shirts and refreshments by the organizers. The event was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Amrita Chakraborty, In-charge, Sehat Kendra, A. N. College, Patna, whose dedicated efforts ensured the successful organization of the programme. On the occasion of Van Mahotsav Week, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of A.N. College, Patna, organized 'Van Mahotsav-2026' at the 'Anugrah Vatika' located within the college campus. The objective of the event was to raise awareness about environmental conservation and to pledge towards building a greener future through tree plantation. The event was inaugurated by the college Principal, Prof. Ratna Amrit. In her address, she spoke at length about the importance of forests, environmental balance, and the necessity of tree plantation in the current times. She encouraged everyone present to plant a tree in honor of their mothers ('Ek Vriksh Maa Ke Naam') and to adopt a tree. Under her leadership, various types of saplings were planted in the Anugrah Vatika. Faculty members—including Prof. Shailesh Kumar Singh, Prof. Sushil Kumar Singh, Prof. Vinod Kumar Jha, Bursar Dr. Abhishek Dutta, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, University NSS Coordinator Prof. Sujit Kumar Dubey, Dr. Jyotish Kumar, Prof. Veena Kumari, Prof. Seema Prasad, and various Heads of Departments—enthusiastically participated in the plantation drive, demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation. NSS Programme Officers Dr. Naveen Kumar, Dr. Shirin Masroor, and Dr. Amrita Chakraborty also planted trees alongside the NSS volunteers. Great enthusiasm was evident among the volunteers and students; they pledged to transform environmental conservation into a mass movement. The college's non-teaching staff and a large number of students were present on the occasion. At the conclusion of the event, all attendees took a pledge to conserve the environment, plant more trees, and protect the saplings that had been planted. The event concluded successfully and proved significant in conveying a powerful message to society regarding environmental conservation and the creation of a greener future.

A significant five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between A.N. College, Patna, and Tarumitra—a nationwide environmental organization—with the aim of promoting environmental conservation, addressing climate change, fostering public awareness, and undertaking joint research activities. Under this MoU, both institutions will collaborate on initiatives such as environmental sustainability, climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, student and youth engagement, environmental awareness campaigns, training programs, workshops, seminars, and joint research projects. The objective of this partnership is to cultivate environmental sensitivity among students and raise awareness about sustainable development within society. The MoU was signed by Principal Prof. Ratna Amrit on behalf of A.N. College, Patna, and by Director Father Tony Pendanath, S.J., on behalf of Tarumitra. Dr. Abhishek Dutta (Bursar, A.N. College) and Devpriya Dutta (Coordinator, Tarumitra) were present at the event as witnesses. Principal Prof. Ratna Amrit stated that this agreement would provide students with practical experience in the fields of environmental conservation and sustainable development, while also propelling the institution to new heights in research and social responsibility. On this occasion, both institutions pledged to make joint efforts to tackle global challenges such as environmental degradation and climate change, and to mold students into environmentally responsible citizens. This partnership is regarded as a significant initiative in the realms of education, research, and social awareness.

A. N. College, Patna proudly hosted the Patna District-Level Red Run 2026 in collaboration with the Bihar State AIDS Control Society (BSACS) under the guidance of the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Government of India. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of colleges, universities, and educational institutions across Patna district, spreading the message of HIV/AIDS awareness, adolescent health, mental well-being, and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle. The programme was inaugurated by Principal Prof. Ratna Amrit, who encouraged the youth to embrace fitness and contribute towards building a healthy and responsible society. BSACS officials and Binay Kumar, NSS Regional Director, were also present and announced the results of the competition.We are proud to share that Anand Kumar Jaiswal of A. N. College secured the second position in the boys' category. Congratulations to him on this remarkable achievement. All participants received certificates of participation, while the top five boys and top five girls qualified to represent Patna district at the State-Level Red Run 2026. The College-Level Red Run 2026 was successfully organized on 26 June 2026 at A. N. College, Patna under the aegis of the Bihar State AIDS Control Society (BSACS). The event was conducted as part of a statewide initiative to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, adolescent health, healthy lifestyles, and the importance of regular physical activity among young people. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments of the college. It commenced with the registration of participants, followed by an orientation session highlighting the objectives and significance of Red Run 2026. A total of 25 students participated in the marathon competition. Based on their outstanding performance, 10 winners (05 male and 05 female participants) were selected to represent A. N. College, Patna at the next level of the competition. The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Amrita Chakraborty, Nodal Officer, Red Run 2026, with the dedicated support of the NSS volunteers ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the event.

International Yoga Day was celebrated today at A.N. College, Patna, with great enthusiasm and participation. Volunteers actively took part in the event—organized under the leadership of College Principal Prof. Ratna Amrit—guided by NSS Programme Officers Dr. Naveen Kumar and Dr. Kamna. The event highlighted the importance of a healthy body, a calm mind, and a balanced life through the practice of yoga. Participants pledged to incorporate regular yoga into their daily routines.

A grand Anugrah Jayanti-cum-Foundation Day Celebration was organized today at A.N. College, Patna, commemorating the 139th Birth Anniversary of Bihar Vibhuti Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha and the 70th Foundation Day of the institution. The programme commenced with floral tributes to the portrait of Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha. The Chief Guest, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Samrat Choudhary, assured all possible support for strengthening A.N. College and enhancing its recognition at the national level. Welcoming the distinguished guests, the Principal of the college, Prof. Ratna Amrit, remarked that Anugrah Jayanti is not merely a commemorative occasion but an opportunity to inspire the younger generation with the values of service, dedication, integrity, and nation-building. The programme was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Patliputra University, Prof. Upendra Prasad Singh, who highlighted the remarkable contributions of Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha in the fields of education, social development, and nation-building. He expressed pride in the growing national recognition of A.N. College and conveyed his best wishes for its continued progress and excellence. Hon'ble Minister Dr. Ashok Choudhary in his address recalled Bihar’s glorious educational legacy and emphasized the need to further strengthen higher education institutions. He appreciated the significant infrastructural development witnessed by A.N. College over the years and expressed confidence in its bright future.
