A significant five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between A.N. College, Patna, and Tarumitra—a nationwide environmental organization—with the aim of promoting environmental conservation, addressing climate change, fostering public awareness, and undertaking joint research activities.
Under this MoU, both institutions will collaborate on initiatives such as environmental sustainability, climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, student and youth engagement, environmental awareness campaigns, training programs, workshops, seminars, and joint research projects. The objective of this partnership is to cultivate environmental sensitivity among students and raise awareness about sustainable development within society.
The MoU was signed by Principal Prof. Ratna Amrit on behalf of A.N. College, Patna, and by Director Father Tony Pendanath, S.J., on behalf of Tarumitra. Dr. Abhishek Dutta (Bursar, A.N. College) and Devpriya Dutta (Coordinator, Tarumitra) were present at the event as witnesses.
Principal Prof. Ratna Amrit stated that this agreement would provide students with practical experience in the fields of environmental conservation and sustainable development, while also propelling the institution to new heights in research and social responsibility.
On this occasion, both institutions pledged to make joint efforts to tackle global challenges such as environmental degradation and climate change, and to mold students into environmentally responsible citizens. This partnership is regarded as a significant initiative in the realms of education, research, and social awareness.
A. N. College, Patna proudly hosted the Patna District-Level Red Run 2026 in collaboration with the Bihar State AIDS Control Society (BSACS) under the guidance of the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Government of India.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of colleges, universities, and educational institutions across Patna district, spreading the message of HIV/AIDS awareness, adolescent health, mental well-being, and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal Prof. Ratna Amrit, who encouraged the youth to embrace fitness and contribute towards building a healthy and responsible society. BSACS officials and Binay Kumar, NSS Regional Director, were also present and announced the results of the competition.We are proud to share that Anand Kumar Jaiswal of A. N. College secured the second position in the boys' category. Congratulations to him on this remarkable achievement.
All participants received certificates of participation, while the top five boys and top five girls qualified to represent Patna district at the State-Level Red Run 2026.
The programme was graced by NSS Programme Officers and coordinators from participating institutions. Dr. Navin Kumar, NSS Programme Officer, and Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Department of Hindi, A. N. College, were present on the occasion. The successful conduct of the event was made possible under the coordination of Dr. Amrita Chakraborty, District Nodal Officer, Red Run 2026 (Patna District), with the dedicated support of NSS volunteers and the staff of A. N. College.Together, let us continue to promote awareness, fitness, and a healthier future for our youth.
The College-Level Red Run 2026 was successfully organized on 26 June 2026 at A. N. College, Patna under the aegis of the Bihar State AIDS Control Society (BSACS). The event was conducted as part of a statewide initiative to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, adolescent health, healthy lifestyles, and the importance of regular physical activity among young people.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments of the college. It commenced with the registration of participants, followed by an orientation session highlighting the objectives and significance of Red Run 2026.
A total of 25 students participated in the marathon competition. Based on their outstanding performance, 10 winners (05 male and 05 female participants) were selected to represent A. N. College, Patna at the next level of the competition.
The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Amrita Chakraborty, Nodal Officer, Red Run 2026, with the dedicated support of the NSS volunteers ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
International Yoga Day was celebrated today at A.N. College, Patna, with great enthusiasm and participation. Volunteers actively took part in the event—organized under the leadership of College Principal Prof. Ratna Amrit—guided by NSS Programme Officers Dr. Naveen Kumar and Dr. Kamna. The event highlighted the importance of a healthy body, a calm mind, and a balanced life through the practice of yoga. Participants pledged to incorporate regular yoga into their daily routines.
A grand Anugrah Jayanti-cum-Foundation Day Celebration was organized today at A.N. College, Patna, commemorating the 139th Birth Anniversary of Bihar Vibhuti Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha and the 70th Foundation Day of the institution.
The programme commenced with floral tributes to the portrait of Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha. The Chief Guest, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Samrat Choudhary, assured all possible support for strengthening A.N. College and enhancing its recognition at the national level.
Welcoming the distinguished guests, the Principal of the college, Prof. Ratna Amrit, remarked that Anugrah Jayanti is not merely a commemorative occasion but an opportunity to inspire the younger generation with the values of service, dedication, integrity, and nation-building.
The programme was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Patliputra University, Prof. Upendra Prasad Singh, who highlighted the remarkable contributions of Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha in the fields of education, social development, and nation-building. He expressed pride in the growing national recognition of A.N. College and conveyed his best wishes for its continued progress and excellence.
Hon'ble Minister Dr. Ashok Choudhary in his address recalled Bihar’s glorious educational legacy and emphasized the need to further strengthen higher education institutions. He appreciated the significant infrastructural development witnessed by A.N. College over the years and expressed confidence in its bright future.
The event was graced by the presence of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Sanjay Singh, Secretary, Higher Education Department Shri Rajeev Roshan along with eminent academicians, teachers, researchers, and students.
The programme paid rich tributes to the ideals, vision, and invaluable contributions of Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha towards education, public service, and nation-building.
